about the Junior Film Fleadh The Junior Film Fleadh was established in 1995. It is the Junior wing of the internationally renowned Galway Film Fleadh. Over the years the festival has grown, its programme has grown in variety and scope – as has its audiences. Young people have attended from both Galway City and County and even schools from counties Clare, Limerick, Mayo, Leitrum and Roscommon. The films are hosted in Galway’s Town Hall Theatre and in the Cinemobile. Our screenings are complimented by a series of workshops that serve to demystify the experience of filmmaking, and give a limited group of participants valuable experience through the facilitation of a working professional. The aim of the Junior Film Fleadh is to introduce our audiences to a cinematic experience that extends outside the reach of traditional Omniplex. The Junior favors films from different countries, films of ideas, films from different eras. Our films serve to enlighten and educate, to inform and entertain. Wherever our films take you, our goal is that you’ll come back richer. |
